Next Play Soccer is a private football-training program that was founded in 2022 by Nico Serolini in the United States. Nico, has a master's degree in Sports Data Analytics and Result Measurement. He has created this platform with the sole purpose of providing effective training and soccer techniques to juvenile, collegiate, and professional players.
I Am Nicolas Serolini
Nico Serolini, a native of Montevideo, Uruguay, began his professional soccer career at just 15 with Defensor Sporting Club, where he won six championships. He also represented the Uruguay U17 National Team, competing in over 50 international matches, including World Cup Qualifiers and prestigious tournaments across South America, Brazil, Mexico, and Peru.
Nico’s career saw him train with top clubs in Europe and Central America, such as Brighton & Hove (England), San Roque de Lepe (Spain), and Athletic Baleares (Spain).
His coaching journey spans elite academies like Barcelona Pro New York, NY Cosmos Academy, and Wasatch Soccer Club in Utah, where he helped develop young talent and foster a strong soccer community.
At the professional level, Nico played a pivotal role as an assistant coach for Boston River, a top-division Uruguayan club. During his tenure, the team secured an impressive 3rd-place finish in the Uruguayan league and qualified for international competition, solidifying his expertise in high-level coaching, opponent analysis, and game strategy.
Currently based in Long Island, New York, Nico continues to shape the next generation of players at SUSA Academy, one of the top youth soccer development programs on the East Coast.
His deep understanding of the global soccer landscape and passion for the game continue to influence and inspire players at all levels.

We envision transforming soccer by offering athletes professional coaching of thehighest quality, developing the Next Play Soccer philosophy of focusing on player and team development, and providing a safe learning environment for the players rather than a win at all costs mentality (but we love winning). Through our programs, we aim to inspire and develop every child in soccer by building a culture that allows everyone to fulfill their full potential on and off the field while having the best soccer experience possible.
Our Coaches
Jorge González
Jorge González is a soccer coach with over 12 years of experience in player development and high-performance competitive environments. He holds the CONMEBOL–AFA A License, USSF coaching certifications, and Video Analyst credentials.
Currently working in youth development with East Coast Surf, Jorge specializes in tactical planning, match analysis, and long-term player growth. His coaching philosophy integrates video analysis with structured on-field methodology to enhance individual performance and team organization.
Beyond technical and tactical development, Jorge emphasizes character, leadership, accountability, and positive team chemistry — foundations for sustainable performance and personal growth.

Andrés Lamas Bervejillo
Andrés Lamas Bervejillo (born January 16, 1984, in Montevideo, Uruguay) is a retired professional footballer who played as a central defender. Standing at 1.88 meters, Lamas had a notable career spanning multiple countries and leagues.
He began his professional journey with Defensor Sporting in Uruguay, where he contributed to the team's 2007–08 Primera División championship victory. Lamas then expanded his career internationally, playing for clubs such as MKE Ankaragücü in Turkey, Recreativo de Huelva and UD Las Palmas in Spain, and Atlético Tucumán in Argentina. His career also included stints in Ecuador, Switzerland, and Chile, showcasing his adaptability and defensive prowess across various football cultures.
After returning to Uruguay, Lamas played for Cerro before retiring from professional football on August 17, 2023. Beyond his on-field achievements, he pursued academic interests, studying Environmental Sciences at the University of Huelva during his time in Spain.
Following his retirement, Lamas transitioned into a new role within the football world. He is now a FIFA-licensed agent and international scout, leveraging his extensive experience and knowledge of the game to identify and nurture emerging talent across the globe.
